Successful Fall Clean-Up!

Thanks to all our volunteers and sponsors who helped make SHA’s Fall Clean-Up a success!  We had 32 volunteers spend their Saturday morning cleaning up the Blythe Township road below Silver Creek Reservoir.  In addition, the Blackrock Motorsports group removed over 120 tires from a pit on Reading Anthracite Property.  Finally, the Trout Unlimited Schuylkill Chapter cleaned a pond in New Philadelphia.  Also, Girl Scout Troop 31058 was in participation.

The event was hosted by Schuylkill Headwaters and Blackrock Motorsports, and was part of Schuylkill County Make a Difference Day and the International Coastal Cleanup.  Volunteers removed a total of 2.3 TONS of trash, including sofas, toilets, construction materials, and bottles.  We are currently working to remove the remaining tires from the site, and hope to have another clean-up event in the future.
